Time to Reset

Last August I set out to hold myself accountable and accomplish something different...and I haven't written a blog post since. Ha! You know what happened? I failed....kinda.
What actually happened? Life. We had a major illness in the family, which led to a death in the family. A lot of my energy went to keeping everyone and everything in my 6-person family afloat, and I lost site of my own goals.
Ever happened to you? You get so lost in trying to take care of others that you struggle to take care of one of your most precious goals? I know...I'm totally the only one here...
But, the good news is that you can reset, refocus, and resume! So here I am, showing up again, with a goal to make this bigger, better and more badass in 2025. Last year I produced and hosted my first standup comedy showcase for the women who attend my Open Mic at Flemington DIY ...and it was a smashing success! This year - our goal is to host 2. We will do it, and I'm so excited about the funny people you'll get to see in 2025.
I'm re-embracing social media im a way that's helpful for me. Looking for regular tips on now to use creativity to help with everything from homework anxiety to stopping fights with your spouse? Be sure to follow me on TikTok!
Is there something you started, and stopped...and feel kinda bad about. What is the one little thing that you can do to restart? Don't let it build up. Don't ruminate on it. Find something small you can do to get yourself back on track. For me, I started with making a formal budget for The Lady Who Laughs. This made me realize I was paying a lot for someone to help me with my website...and they really weren't. Then I canceled the website service. Then I had to start watching how to do it myself...and found out its easier than I thougth and was kinda fun! Which led to a website redesign (its likely still a work in progress) and a re-commitment to getting booked as a speaker and blogging regularly.
See how quickly that momentum built? It's like giving a mouse a cookie. What's the cookie you can give to your inner mouse?
Tune in next week to see if I failed again, or if maybe, just maybe...I'm still here!
In Laughter,
Megan
